New Hampshire's Virtual Town Hall

"The three Belknap County lawmakers on the New Hampshire House Transportation Committee voted to support permanent speed limits on Lake Winnipesaukee and said they will support the bill's passage in the full house.

Before giving the nod to Senate Bill 464, Rep. John Veasey, R-Laconia, Rep. Richard Stuart, D-Laconia and Rep. Steve Nedeau, R-Meredith, who also served as the committee's acting vice chair during Tuesday's vote, voted in the affirmative to amend the bill to reflect maximum daytime speed limits of 45 miles per hour and maximum nighttime speed limits of 30 mph.

The version passed by the full Senate had speed limits of 50 mph during the day and 30 mph at night.

'Speed does kill,' said Nedeau, who said he has received about 400 e-mails from his constituents and nearly 85 percent supported speed limits."

Its interesting that that Rep. Steve Nedeau, R-Meredith (The R must stand for Rino) mentions , and I quote
"Speed kills" . Well thats an interesting comment, since we provided him the statistics and facts that boat speed on lake winnipesaukee is in fact a non issue. Just another example of joining our nanny state to the south. Democrats and republicans who vote for this nonsense should be prepared to be voted out in November. We will be back next session to remove this silly law.
