"Say the words 'school bully,' and most people imagine the same thing: a big, mean kid — usually not the smartest student in class — who will slam you against lockers and steal your lunch money at recess.
Bullies, however, don’t fit neatly into one stereotype.
There are students who gossip, those who spread rumors. There can be discreet taunting on the bus, the anonymous posting of nasty comments online.
It’s a complex world, said Glenn A. Stan, school counselor for Walpole schools in the Fall Mountain Regional School District.
'We just want people to be aware that we know (bullying) is happening,' he said, and want to supply students with tools to prevent it.
