New Hampshire's Virtual Town Hall
"How many citizens does it take to kill a law? That seemed to be the question on everybody's mind Friday Sept. 17 in the function hall of the new Alumni Center on the campus of Keene State College.
The New Hampshire Death Penalty Study Commission held a meeting in KSC's newest building, as a community outreach program aimed at gathering input from different areas of the state.
The committee is made up of individuals hailing from various parts of government and was led by state representative Robert Cushing.
Cushing said the committee met for the first time in December to help gauge New Hampshire residents' opinion on whether the state should abolish the death penalty or not.
With over 100 people present at the meeting, 30 spoke. Of these 30, 27 advocated for abolishing the death penalty, including two speakers whom had been recently affected by homicide."
