"CONCORD – Business leaders from across the state yesterday urged lawmakers to finish what they started with the repeal of the LLC tax.
With less than three months left in this
legislative session, representatives of the retail, hospitality, medical and other industries gathered at the state's Legislative Office Building to remind Gov. John Lynch of his support.
"The business
community is watching," said Jim Roche, president of the Business and Industry Association.
Lynch has indicated he supports the repeal
of the tax on investors of limited liability companies who make a profit of more than $400 a year. It was passed last June as a new tax on interest and dividends distributed to investors. It was said to be worth $15 million annually to the state coffers.
With the tax just collected
April 15, no numbers are yet available to see how much it garnered."
