New Hampshire's Virtual Town Hall
House members led by Reps. Barney Frank (D- Mass.) and Ron Paul (R- Tex.) have introduced legislation to legalize the use of marijuana and allow states to develop their own rules on it's use within their borders.
Modeled on the 21st Amendment to the Constitution that repealed the prohibition of alcoholic beverages, the legislation is being cast by the Marijuana Policy Project as the "the first bill ever introduced in Congress to end federal marijuana prohibition."
The bill was introduced to limit the federal government's role in enforcing marijuana laws, which would allow states to legalize, regulate, and tax the substance.
Congressman Frank will talk about this initiative, its goals, benefits and challenges followed by a brief opportunity for Questions and Answers.
Monday, Sept. 12th at 4:30 PM.
