New Hampshire's Virtual Town Hall

House and Senate negotiators have been unable to come to terms on HB 1326.

Here is what Tom Fahey, State House reporter for the Manchester Union Leader, had to say in his Sunday "State House Dome" column:

Lyme disease sufferers fell short in their efforts to free doctors from the threat of discipline if they prescribe long-term antibiotics for Lyme patients.

House and Senate teams could not strike a deal on (Lyme Disease treatment), which the Senate watered down into a study of the issue with a one-year moratorium on disciplinary  proceedings. The House had overturned a committee recommendation to pass the full bill protecting doctors. On a per-capita basis, New Hampshire has the highest incidence
of Lyme in the country.

The issue remains in limbo as the legislators head toward adjournment next week, then into a special session to tackle unresolved budget issues.
