New Hampshire's Virtual Town Hall
Two lanes on each side of the toll plaza have been designated for "open road tolling," allowing vehicles to continue
at the normal speed on Interstate 95. The idea is to avoid traffic
backups typical for beachgoers and other visitors to the Seacoast. The
Department of Transportation says it's the first installation in New
England.
The department is introducing the electronic toll Thursday at 10 a.m.
The lanes will be open on a trial basis just for the holiday weekend. They go back to normal on June 1 and are scheduled for permanent use on June 15.
