Transportation Commissioner abandons I-93 toll plan

"The state has abandoned its move to set up toll booths on I-93 in Salem.

Transportation Commissioner George Campbell recommended against the idea in a letter to Gov. John Lynch today. A Lynch spokesman said the governor agrees with Campbell.

'Our plans are to continue to evaluate funding options, including bonding, for fully funding the completion of the I-93 project form north of Windham to Manchester,' Campbell said in his letter to Lynch."
