This entry appears to be based on today's Concord Monitor article, which was a little off in its representation of the bill. Marijuana remains illegal for all under HB 1653, but the penalty for possessing 1/4 ounce or less is simply reduced (from up to a year in jail and a fine up to $2000) to a fine not to exceed $200.
