Mike Branley commented on LFDA Editor's group 'Later high school starts?'
"Jamila, That is a valid point, as 24 minutes is not a significant change. I think the main 'controversy' is over the fact that the start time is moving back without necessarily considering how much later school starts"

Mike Branley commented on LFDA Editor's group 'Later high school starts?'
"I see two primary potential issues arising from starting high school later, and subsequently starting middle and/or elementary schools earlier. On the hand hand, in high school I played football at Pinkerton Academy and we would start our practices…"

Mike Branley replied to Alex Lamb Joselow's discussion 'Undemocratic or a voice for the little guy?' in the group Electoral College
"What about a compromise? Instead of the current electoral college or a purely democratic vote, what about a more responsive Electoral College? At current, the Electoral College disenfranchises large portions of the population in states with high…"

Electoral College

When all is said and done, it's the Electoral College vote -- not the popular vote -- that decides the presidency. Some states are considering legislation that essentially bypasses the Electoral College. Should New Hampshire join in?See More

Mike Branley replied to Jamila Lasante's discussion 'Seat belt law' in the group Seat Belts
"Alex, those rankings are regarding the knowledge of drivers who took a written test, not how safe they drive. I am not sure that having a seatbelt law would make drivers in NH more knowledgable."

Mike Branley replied to LFDA Editor's discussion 'NO!!! Pot is expensive enough as it is (Facebook comments)' in the group Decriminalize marijuana?
"Many people in this forum worry about illegal dealers going around the government in order to avoid paying the tax. As was stated by Lisa Duclos and others, cigarette taxes today are very high, however I have never heard of someone growing their own…"

Mike Branley replied to Jamila Lasante's discussion 'Seat belt law' in the group Seat Belts
"Alex, Of course a seatbelt law would not be the first act to limit independence in New Hampshire. However such a law would give police officers one more violation to look for to pull drivers over and hand out citations. I would not be adamently…"
