New Hampshire's Virtual Town Hall
Rep. Steven Valliancort (R-Manchester) forced the legislature to individually consider 90 bills that were scheduled to be handled in a single vote Wednesday, according to the Union Leader.
Valliancourt was reportedly upset because he was asked by Democratic leaders to revise a report on tax caps. They claimed the report contained inaccurate information.
Vaillancourt retaliated by exercising his power to slow the entire process, forcing the delay of some bills until next week. The UL reports he also insisted on time-consuming, individually counted votes on every other proposal that came up.
Rep. Jackie Cali Pitts, D-Portsmouth, told the newspaper the day was "a waste of our time and the taxpayers' money. This hurts all of us, including the people we represent."
Vaillancourt did not make a statement to the newspaper.
